Sesklo 1.0.9: QuickBooks Online sync, export your data, and payout fees you can see
Sesklo 1.0.9 is rolling out on the App Store and Google Play now, and the matching update to sesklo.com is already live. Most of this release is about money and records for service providers: getting your numbers into QuickBooks, getting your data out of Sesklo, and seeing exactly what a payout cost you. Recurring services get a good share of the attention too.
For homeowners — the mobile app and the website
- Photos and videos in project chat show properly. A photo in project chat could appear as a broken image. That is fixed, and a video now shows a still with a play badge instead of a blank box. Tap it to play.
- One charge per recurring visit. When your provider confirms a visit on a recurring service, the card you saved for that service pays that visit's invoice, once.
- Monthly recurring services show what you are paying. A service billed as a flat monthly amount now follows the same rules as every other payment on Sesklo: the provider's monthly price plus the Sesklo platform fee (3% + $1.35), shown as one total per month. The total is on the service, and each paid month leaves a receipt.
- Three more flat-rate services. House wash for a single-story home, carpet cleaning for up to three rooms, and an appliance diagnostic visit join the flat-rate menu, each with its price shown before you book.
For homeowners — the mobile app
- Claim a property that is already on Sesklo. If you add an address another account holds, the app now offers the same steps as the website: ask the current holder to transfer it, or claim it once it has been released.
For homeowners — the website
- Pricing questions written for you. The pricing page now carries homeowner questions only, including a new one: what fee is included when I pay through Sesklo?
For service providers — the mobile app and the website
- Export my data. The business owner can download everything the business has put into Sesklo as one zip of spreadsheets: customers, properties, jobs, quotes, invoices, payments, recurring services and the price book. It is under Settings, Billing & Payments, on every plan, and it still works after you cancel.
- See your Stripe payout fees. Stripe charges 0.25% plus $0.25 on each standard payout to your bank, and Sesklo passes that through at cost. A new card under Settings, Billing & Payments shows what will come out of your next payment, what has been taken so far, and each recent fee. The export includes them too.
- A clearer warning when a payment has not reached you. If money a customer paid has not been sent to your bank yet, the warning now names the payments, gives the reason and says what to do about it.
- Checklists on recurring services. On Pro and Team, add a checklist to a recurring visit, and choose whether it carries onto future visits. A new setting under Settings, Checklists decides what happens when a checklist still has open items at Mark complete: block, warn or do nothing.
- Invoice a recurring visit on Basic. A recurring service now lists its visits to invoice, with a button to mark the visit complete and send the invoice. Before, that step was only reachable on Pro.
- A recurring visit is billed once. Confirming a visit creates its invoice and pays it with the card the customer saved on the service. Sesklo tells you whether the card went through.
- A tidier unscheduled list. Recurring services appear under Unscheduled this week only when a visit is actually due with nothing booked. Owners and admins also get one notification when a recurring visit is more than a day overdue and still not on the calendar.
- Plan changes behave the way you would expect. A downgrade now waits until the end of the period you have already paid for. Changing plan keeps your billing cycle, annual plans show the yearly total, and a monthly plan can switch to annual. The upgrade window inside a project was also quoting the wrong Pro price, and now shows the real one.
- Teams run on the Team plan. Adding or reactivating a teammate needs the Team plan, and a solo business becomes a team by moving to it. Founding Providers are exempt. My Account gains a Switch to a team account option where it applies.
- Spreadsheet import adds customers again. Rows you chose to add from a spreadsheet were being skipped. They are added now, and labeled Spreadsheet import in your customer list.
- The report assistant understands your trades. Ask how much you billed for gutter cleaning this year and it filters to that trade. In the app, it now tells you what it built, in a note above the report.
- Ask Sesklo answers for your role and plan. The help assistant now answers from material written for the kind of account you are using, so a crew member is not told about owner-only settings.
- Calendar sync follows changes made in the app. A visit created, moved or cancelled in the app, or by the assistant, now updates your connected Google or Outlook calendar. Before, only changes made on the website did.
For service providers — the website
- QuickBooks Online sync. Connect your QuickBooks company under Settings, Billing & Payments, and Sesklo sends your invoices, payments and refunds to it, plus one bank deposit for each Stripe payout. Payments you record in QuickBooks come back to Sesklo. The card shows anything that needs your attention and has a Sync now button. It is included on every plan and is set up by the business owner.
- Refunds come back from the payment first. When you refund a customer, Sesklo now takes the money back from what you were sent and then refunds the card, and any payout fee withheld from that payment is put back on your balance of fees owed.
- Instant payouts cost Stripe's 1% and nothing more. The standard payout fee was being added on top of an instant payout. It is not any more.
- Annual Team plans bill the extra logins they start with. Logins above the five included that exist when an annual Team plan starts or renews are billed for the year at $153.00 each. If you are already on an annual Team plan, this applies from your next renewal.
- Follow-up emails that play by the rules. The automatic thank-you, review request and seasonal reminder now carry an unsubscribe link and a postal address, skip anyone who has opted out of your emails, and send replies to you. The unsubscribe button mail apps show on marketing emails works now as well.
- Project-message campaigns are delivered. A campaign sent as project messages now posts in each customer's active project and notifies them. Recipients who cannot be reached are marked with the reason.
- A better Founding Provider application. Your trade is now a pick-up-to-five list you search by typing, and the signup asks whether you are a solo business or a team instead of assuming solo.
For everyone — the mobile app
- Dashboard takes you home. Tapping Dashboard on the landing screen while signed in now opens your Home tab instead of leaving you in Settings.
For everyone — the website
- Terms and Privacy Policy updated. The Terms now name Stripe's payout fee and say it is passed through at cost, and both documents describe a business owner's right to download its records.
If you have automatic updates turned on, 1.0.9 reaches your phone on its own. The matching website update is live now.
Edited October 12, 2026: Sesklo now charges one platform fee on a payment, 3% + $1.35, shown in the total before you pay. Two items in this post described the earlier fees and were reworded. Nothing else changed.
