Founding Provider Program

Free field service software for contractors, by application

Sesklo’s Founding Provider program gives contractors the Pro plan, or Team for a business with a crew, at no charge, with no card on file. It is not open signup: you apply, a person at Sesklo reads the application, and if you are accepted you get a single-use invite link and create your account from it. Some fees remain. Your customer pays a Sesklo platform fee of 3% + $1.35 on each payment, and Stripe’s payout fee is passed through to you at cost.

How to get in

  1. Apply

Fill in the application on this page: your trade, zip code, business name, your name, and a mobile number or an email address. Applying does not create an account.

  2. A person reviews it

A person at Sesklo reads every application and decides. Nothing is approved automatically, and an application can be declined. If yours is, Sesklo sends you the reason.

  3. You get an invite link

If you are accepted, the link arrives by text or email. It works once and is valid for 30 days; if it lapses, ask Sesklo for a new one.

  4. You sign up from that link

It opens Sesklo’s normal contractor signup: you choose solo or team, enter your business details and set a password. No card is asked for. Signing up any other way creates a regular account without Founding Provider status.

What is included

A Founding account is a normal Sesklo contractor account on the Pro plan, or Team for a crew. Both plans have every capability below.

What a Founding account includes
CapabilityWhat it does
QuotesBuild a quote from your own pricebook and send it for the customer to accept online.
SchedulingA calendar for booking and moving jobs, on the web and in the app.
Invoices and online paymentsSend an invoice and take payment by card or bank transfer.
Recurring servicesSet up repeat service on a schedule, with the visits created ahead of time and each one invoiced when you mark it complete.
Customer list (My Customers)Your customers and their job history in one place, with follow-up reminders and customer import from a spreadsheet file.
Automated ReceptionistAn optional Sesklo phone number. It rings your own phone, and on a missed call it takes a voicemail and can text the caller a link to request service.
Time trackingLog time on each job, with optional GPS on-site time from the mobile app.
Job costingProfit and loss per job: labor, materials and mileage against what was billed.
Milestones, checklists, work logs and documentsOn a quoted project: milestones tied to payments, reusable checklists, daily work logs with photos, and document storage.
Route optimizationOrder a day’s stops by drive time.

Every plan also includes reporting, e-signatures, customer messaging and the HQ community, and the account works on the web and in the iOS and Android apps.

Solo or team

You choose one when you create the account. Solo is a single login for a one-person business. Team is for a business whose staff need their own logins: you invite them from Team settings and each gets a role. A solo account is on Pro and a team account on Team, at no charge either way.* Pick team if anyone besides you will need to sign in.

* A team account includes 10 logins. The Founding Provider program may charge $15.00 a month for each login above 10.

What still costs money, and who pays it

The subscription costs nothing. Payments your customers make through Sesklo still carry fees, the same for a Founding Provider as for any other contractor.

Fees on payments and payouts: what, how much, and who pays
WhatHow muchWho pays
Sesklo platform fee3% + $1.35 on each payment, on top of your price. On a flat-rate booking it is 3% + $5.50, included in the price the customer is shown.Your customer
Stripe payout fee0.25% + $0.25 on each payout to your bank, passed through to you at cost. You
Instant payout (optional)1% of the payout, $0.50 minimum. You, only if you choose one

The platform fee does not come out of your price, and your customer sees the total, fee included, before paying. For example, on a $100 invoice your customer is charged $104.35: $100.00 for the job and a $4.35 Sesklo platform fee. You are credited the $100.00, and a $100.00 payout to your bank carries a $0.50 payout fee. The fee applies to every payment, so on small repeat visits your customer pays it each time.

Sesklo charges no per-lead or per-quote fee: viewing and quoting homeowner requests is part of your plan.

How Sesklo makes money

Sesklo makes its money from paid subscriptions and from the platform fee. Contractors outside the program pay a subscription: Pro $49.99 or Team $99.99 a month. Customers pay the platform fee on the payments they make through Sesklo: 3% + $1.35 per payment, or 3% + $5.50 inside the price of a flat-rate booking. A Founding Provider pays no subscription; that provider’s customers pay the platform fee like anyone else’s. Sesklo does not sell leads.

If the program ever ends

The program has no end date today. If that ever changes you’ll hear from us first and choose whether to keep Pro on a paid plan — nothing is ever charged without a card you add yourself.

For reference, Pro on a paid plan is $49.99 a month today and Team is $99.99, or 15% less when paid annually.

Who it suits

The program fits owner-operators and small crews that do many small jobs, such as house cleaning, lawn care and gutter cleaning. That work repeats for the same customers, so it leans on recurring services, quick invoices, route planning and a customer list, which every plan has. This describes fit, not a requirement: the application lists every trade Sesklo covers, plus “Other”.

What other tools’ free plans cap

Questions

Is this a free plan?

No. It is Sesklo’s Pro plan (Team for a crew) at no charge, and you get it by application, not by signing up. A person at Sesklo reviews each application and can decline it. Anyone can start a paid plan without applying.

Is there a limit on jobs or customers?

No. A Founding account is a Pro or Team account, and Sesklo’s plans do not count or cap jobs, customers, quotes or invoices. A solo account has one login; a team account adds logins for staff.

Do I need a credit card?

No. Neither the application nor signup from an invite link asks for one. Nothing is ever charged without a card you add yourself. To be paid through Sesklo you connect a bank account for payouts through Stripe. That account is where your payouts go; Sesklo does not charge a subscription to it.

What do my customers pay?

Your price, plus a Sesklo platform fee of 3% + $1.35 on each payment. On a flat-rate booking the fee is 3% + $5.50, included in the price the customer is shown. The fee does not come out of your price.

Can I apply from the mobile app?

No. The application is a form on this website, and it works in a phone’s browser. The invite link opens signup in the browser too. Once the account exists you can sign in to the Sesklo app on iOS or Android.

How is this different from the 30 free days every new account gets?

The 30 free days are a trial with a fixed end. They need no application and no card; before the 30 days end you choose a paid plan and add a card or bank account, or the account stays saved but locked until you do. The Founding Provider program is by application and gives the Pro plan (Team for a crew) at no charge. The program has no end date today.

About Sesklo

Sesklo is a home services platform serving both sides of a job: homeowners describe a project once and receive standardized, comparable quotes from local service providers, and those providers run the work on Sesklo's field service management tools — quoting, scheduling, invoicing, job costing, and reporting.
