Sesklo 1.0.10: a guided start, sign in with Google, Apple or Microsoft, and one plan for providers
Sesklo 1.0.10 is rolling out on the App Store and Google Play now, and the matching update to sesklo.com is already live. This release is about your first few minutes with Sesklo: it shows you around before it asks for an email, you can sign in with an account you already have, and service providers get one plan with everything in it.
For homeowners — the mobile app and the website
- Home Checkup. Under Properties, open your home's Equipment and photograph the label on your water heater, furnace or A/C. Sesklo tells you roughly how old it is, how long that kind of equipment usually lasts, whether it may match a federal recall, and what a replacement typically costs. It's free, and the estimates are informational, not an inspection.
- One Sesklo platform fee, included in the price. Each payment to a provider through Sesklo includes one Sesklo platform fee of 3% + $1.35, and the price you see is the total you pay. On a flat-rate booking the fee is built into the published price. This replaces the earlier fees.
- Bank transfer costs less. Where you can pay by bank transfer, you see the price both ways, and the bank transfer figure is lower.
- Homes you rent. Sesklo now records whether you own or rent each home. A home you rent is your record of where you live, so you can request work there even if the owner is on Sesklo too.
- Describe your project. Request Work has a new Describe your project option. Tell Sesklo about the job by typing or talking, and it fills in the request form for you to check and submit.
- Hire buttons only for providers who can take work. A provider without an active plan still appears in the directory, but you can't send them a request until they're back.
- Fewer rejected addresses. Some real addresses, such as new builds, were being turned away. They're accepted now, and a missing unit number no longer stops you.
For homeowners — the mobile app
- Recurring services, right in the app. Request Work, Recurring service, Browse recurring services now opens in the app instead of the website. Search by ZIP and service, compare up to three plans, subscribe, and add or update your card.
For service providers — the mobile app and the website
- One plan, every feature. Pro is $49.99 a month for one person. Team is $99.99 a month for up to 10 people, plus $15 a month for each person after that. Both include every feature. Paying yearly saves 15%: $509.88 for Pro and $1,019.88 for Team. If you already had a plan, you now pay today's price for it, with every feature included.
- Your first 30 days are free, with no card. A new provider account gets full access for 30 days without entering a card. Reminders arrive in the last five days. If the 30 days end before you choose a plan, your account and everything in it is kept until you do.
- A walkthrough built around what you want to do better. New providers pick what they want to improve, and Sesklo shows those parts of the app using example requests, an example week on the schedule and an example job, before asking for an email.
- Record a cheque or cash payment. On an invoice, Record a payment marks money you collected outside Sesklo. There is no fee, and it is not paid out or refunded through Sesklo.
- The Sesklo platform fee is the customer's. Customers pay one Sesklo platform fee on each payment, shown in the price they see, and it doesn't come out of your price.
- Dispute and failed-payment costs now follow the payment. If you lose a dispute, the payment is taken back along with the $15.00 dispute fee. A bank payment that fails after it is submitted costs $4.00. If you decline a paid flat-rate booking, the customer gets a full refund and 3% of the price plus $0.50 comes from your balance. Bank payments of $2,500 or more wait five business days before they are paid out to you.
- If your plan lapses, you stay listed. Customers can still find you in the directory but can't hire you until you choose a plan, and Sesklo emails you when someone looks at your profile, at most once every five days.
- The Training Playground is open. Training, Playground opens a practice copy of Sesklo where you can try anything, sending quotes included, without reaching a real customer. Anything that would have gone out lands in an Outbox for you to read instead.
For service providers — the mobile app
- Set up the Automated Receptionist in the app. Turning it on, getting your Sesklo number and releasing the number now all work in the app, not just on the website.
For everyone — the mobile app and the website
- A guided start. The first screen asks whether you're a homeowner, a service provider or someone who already has an account, and Sesklo's mascot walks you through setting up from there. You create your account at the end, once you've seen what Sesklo does.
- Sign in with Google, Apple or Microsoft. Continue with Google, Apple or Microsoft now sits on the sign-in and sign-up screens. If that email already has a Sesklo account, it signs you in to that account instead of making a second one. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, Sesklo asks for your real email and sends a 6-digit code to confirm it. On the website, you can connect or remove sign-in methods on My Account.
- The same Help on the website as in the app. Signed in, the website's Need help? button now opens the helper from the app, with search, step-by-step answers, and a Confirm to proceed card before it does anything for you.
- Updated Terms and Privacy Policy. Both now cover the changes in this release. The Terms are dated October 20, 2026.
For everyone — the mobile app
- The app opens on the guided start. Signed out, the app now opens on that first screen every time, and I already have an account takes you to sign-in. Links to sesklo.com open in your phone's browser.
- Help beside the app on a bigger screen. On an iPad or an unfolded Android foldable, Help opens in a column beside the app instead of covering it.
For everyone — iPhone and iPad
- You decide whether Sesklo AI is on. The first time a feature needs to send your information to an outside service to work, the app asks you to turn on Sesklo AI, and says what is shared. Until you do, nothing is sent. You can change your answer on My Account.
For everyone — the website
- A shorter sesklo.com. The home page and the For Service Providers page are shorter, and both ask "Which one sounds like you?" so you can go straight to the guided start.
- Filter the blog. Pick Release notes or a topic, sort newest or oldest first, and choose a date range.
If you have automatic updates turned on, 1.0.10 reaches your phone on its own. The matching website update is live now.
